What is a Vehicle Protection Plan and what is included?
A Vehicle Protection Plan is a service contract designed to cover you when unexpected mechanical breakdowns occur. Our three coverage plans, Sentry Guard Max, Sentry Care and Power Care, are available for up to 10 years and 120,000 miles and include 24-hour emergency roadside assistance, towing, rental car reimbursement and trip interruption protection.
Are plans available for both new and used vehicles?
Yes. Your vehicle’s plan will depend on its year, make, model and mileage.
Are there any mileage or year restrictions?
Vehicle Protection Plans are offered for vehicles at the current model year and the previous nine model years. Also, a vehicle must have less than 105,000 miles at the time the vehicle protection plan is purchased and can extend through 175,000 odometer miles.
If I sell my vehicle, is my plan transferable?
Yes, your plan is transferable to the new owner and is a great benefit to the buyer. In fact, a Vehicle Protection Plan may enhance the value of your vehicle and help you sell it easier and faster.
When does my coverage begin?
Our plans are “add-on time” and “add-on miles” coverage. Your coverage begins immediately upon purchase of the plan and is measured from your vehicle’s current mileage at the time of purchase.
Are parts and labor covered on my plan?
Yes, your Vehicle Protection Plan provides 100% coverage of parts, labor and fluids on covered repairs (as outlined in your contract) including any applicable sales tax, less a deductible (if applicable).
If your vehicle needs repair, call CWS at 1-866-732-8503 and a Vehicle Protection Plan claims analyst will assist you.
Claim payments, less a deductible (if applicable), are made directly to the repair facility. There is no paperwork for you to fill out, and since payments are made to the repair facility, there’s no wait for reimbursement.
Your Vehicle Protection Plan offers you a choice of deductibles: $0, $100, $250 and $500 per repair visit. It’s important to note that other companies’ plans may charge a deductible per item.
Do I need a plan if my vehicle is still under factory warranty?
There are a number of significant benefits to owning a Vehicle Protection Plan while your vehicle is still protected under your manufacturer’s warranty.

My vehicle is not currently under warranty, but it’s very reliable. Do I need a plan?
Mechanical breakdowns are a reality for even the most reliable vehicles, and that is why the manufacturer only offers warranties for a limited period. As your vehicle gets older and has more miles on it, the likelihood of experiencing a breakdown increases, especially after the manufacturer’s warranty has expired. So, it is a good investment to protect yourself today from an unexpected and costly repair bill in the future.
